Nope...lol. I parked this darned car out in front of the shop every day and people would know I was open. I have met a lot of guys because of this car...and one time I was inside the movie gallery and looked out to see it surrounded by three sheriff's cars..I ran out to see what was the matter...well...nothing ,they were just admiring the car. Unfortunately, the Mustang is also retired, like really retired. She gone but not forgotten too.
Many times the shop is a calm and peaceful place to people to visit. Here a visitor, Marge, takes a rest and a look at one of the many books for sale.
I always had little arrangements of things sitting about. In fact Carol Isaac told me several times the entire shop was a work or art. It was fun arranging things in space. Now I am doing it at my house.
Rainy is much more gorgeous than this picture...no kidding. But it is such a sweet picture I had to put it here.. I have more of her.
I couldn't resist handing this book to Chick Little who we heard from on an irregular basis.
I guess we have a thing for tragic figures at the shop. We have Elvis, James Dean, Marilyn and of course, Cherie
That little mermaid doll was so much fun. I put her everywhere and people kept on trying to buy her, but nobody would pay $1000. She remains with me.
Thanks to David Alexander the statue was saved from being plowed under by the homophobic guy who seemed to think the statue was a lesbian statue. I would laugh if it wasn't so ridiculous. The statue is temporarily residing at Bellamy Road.
Sometime I would go back down to the shop in the evening. It was truly magic at night.
Well, last year I added a big red hat to the statue. Why? The devil made me do it:-) in the heat of the summer right out on Rt 26. Of course I got into all kinds of trouble over this. Oh well, what else is new? In case there is any question by the way, the statue is now at Bellamy Road. It remains my property.
These people were a real fun group. They filled up the shop with their presence and even redered shewolf speechless. I liked them a lot.
Nevermore. A creation of Hannah Price, one of many really wonderful pieces. You can now buy them at The Shakerag Studio right across the street.
She always does our chart and does not believe in charging for it. I can always depend on her to tell me what the stars are up to.
These fellows were just swell, Brought guitars and gave everyone a real concert. You never can tell what will happen at the coffee shop.
They are so cute on these bikes. They are wonderful sweet women and I am glad I got to know them.
These boots were made for walking and I did a lot of walking behind that counter.
Our little mermaid doll reading a little book. My art, the arrangement of things in space, not quite qualifying for a studio. Still, it's art.
She looks like a stern schoolmarm in this picture. She really is quite sweet. A talented artist and beautiful person who understands what is really important in this life. She cares about others in a heart way...real and true. Rainy says it is about what you give, not what you have that matters in the scheme of things. I mean can you even take one book with you when you leave the planet? I don't think so.
Well, Wanda wandered in for breakfast and ended up renting the old dog-grooming shop. She had all green-friendly items. Wanda is gone now too, along with the rest of us, except for that homophobic guy and his hot dogs. Except interestingly he hasn't been able to open yet. Oh gosh....too bad, huh? He chopped down the gardens..now what kind of guy does that?
Isn't he cute? What a funny guy. I think he lives in St.Augustine. I have so many pictures of people standing in front of the counter like this. It's funny.
Interestingly the peaceniks and veterans somehow got along when music was shared. What a nice almost spontaneous concert this was.
There were so many happy times at the coffee shop. This day was one of them, just playing with the puppy and riding Wanda's golfcart.
