One of my admirers sent me these flowers. I have been both sainted and demonized this year. Good stuff for a novel, not so great for real life. I think I would just rather be considered a ho hum kind of person..not a chance though.
This little lady is sometimes my helper on Saturdays. She is pretty quiet and definitely a sweetheart.
Ok, this was taken on Thanksgiving at Paine's Prairie but Nicole is a regular visitor to TMP. She has a big truck and she is single.
Molly has never been to the coffee shop but she almost went to Gainesville with me today. Seems she was stowed away in the back window of the old lady car. Luckily I stopped at the mailbox before moving on down the road. She was returned to our new little home on Swan Lake before the trip into town:-)
These fellas rode all the way from San Francisco for a cup of Magical Take Me Places coffee. Watch out Starbuckles.
I brought in the antique camera collection in the middle of summer thinking I would have an antique sideline business. What happened was people started bringing me more cameras. I guess I should borrow a Mazda Miata to sit out in front of the coffee shop and maybe people would bring me more of them...or at least one.
Look at this happy face. Lillian comes in every single Sunday, rain or shine, hurricanes and sweltering heat cannot keep her away.
The coffee shop is still here and continuing to change and grow with new people, new groups, additions to the menu, artwork, books, more plants than ever before, but it is still the same in many ways. All kinds of people come here and find a bit of family, community, work, conversation, friends and lovers. It is still comfy, kind of messy and you can put your feet up on the coffee tables. You don't have to dress up or even comb your hair. If you don't have money, you can get a tab or even do some work around here in exchange for a piece of quiche and a coffee. Yes, we miss our ladies of latte but they drop in every once in awhile just to smile on us. if you have not been in in awhile, give it a try.
I had to add this one even though there is a close up later on in thi album. Now if Elizabeth could just figure out how to work her computer, she could look at this. Elizabeth is a Gestault therapist and has just written on book on dreams which will hopefully be printed by December 10th..the day of the Christmas Parade. If it is she will be at TMP to do her first book signing. be there.
Here is Cathleen (Corky) making up a poem, right on the spot, for a get-well card. If you come in to the coffee shop, sit down next to her and join her in lively conversation.
Maya serving a great cup of coffee to our friendly astrologer Mary Jane. Come in any Saturday and you can meet Mary Jane and she might just give you a few hints about your chart. She likes Leos a lot.
Another picture of Maya and Bob who is watching her closely, just to help her, should she need it. Maya will be helping out from time to time at TMP.
Laurel brought this kitty in both Saturday and Sunday trying to find it a home. If you do not have a feline please sign up. We will be auctioning this one off soon...You too can have a cat and this one is special...the Take Me Places Kitty
Shaun messing with my stereo, as usual, and Dave, the smiley one. You never can tell what these two will be up to.
Gene brought in her pals from Texas after Katrina hit there. One of her friends has a very wonderful photo for me but Gene is holding it hostage..for something. I can;t remember exactly what it is....chocolate maybe.
Jake and David of the Little Bear Tree Company. One day they overheard me say a tree was down in my driveway and they simply asked where I lived. They went out and not only got it out of the driveway, they cut it up and hauled it away.
My little pal Levi assists Elizabeth Howard (the dream woman) in listening to the sound of the ocean, right at Take Me Places.
Dr Dot is a swell guy and a great artist. He slips in alone sometimes without his side-kick Hanna, who will soon have an art opening of her work at TMP.
Every time Penny comes in she says "No" to a sweetroll, but ends up having one anyway.
